How are 2019 teachers of the year announced when we just started 2018???
The TOY is chosen to be representative of the following school year. So, the 2018 TOY represents the city during the 2017-2018 SY and the 2019 TOY will represent during the 2018-2019 SY. We need to maintain the years that way to align with the state and national competition, which our citywide TOY moves on to, and is announced in that current year. For example, the 2018 TOY for the state level and national level are not announced until the actual calendar
