Carly Dilday, a senior at Salem High School and the Visual and Performing Arts Academy, recently won first place in the Virginia Association of Science Teachers (VAST) 2015 statewide Art Contest.
Her work will appear in the 2016 spring issue of the Science Educator. It will be also be displayed throughout VAST’s Annual Professional Development Institute (PDI) in Chantilly, VA, on the VAST Web site (www.vast.org), and recognized by the VAST president during the PDI.
Her mixed-media artwork, which was created in Jared Boone’s AP Studio Art class at Salem will help the public better understand the PDI’s theme of “Designing Inquiring Minds”.
