Last year, the division launched the scratch cooking program at three schools. This year, five more schools have been added. This growth is possible as a result of many people doing great work together: our Food Services team under the leadership of Dr. John Smith; our chef Kip Poole and his team who over the past year have trained our cafeteria staff in culinary techniques; principals who are greatly supportive of the program; and our facilities team who added new equipment to kitchens this summer. That spirit of collaboration, which is one of the division’s core values, is why this month’s Compass Keeper video shines the spotlight on our scratch cooking program.
