The dog did my homework: Pets paw their way into virtual classrooms
There’s nothing like an unexpected pet appearance to liven up Zoom meetings. They’ve shown up in many virtual classrooms, so much so that science teachers at Lynnhaven Middle School came up with a fun way for their sixth-grade students to introduce furry family members to their peers.
The instructions were simple: Take a photo of your pet doing your homework. (Yep, it’s a twist on the old excuse, “My dog ate my homework.”) Students without pets substituted stuffed animals and action figures. Everyone added their photos to an online slideshow, including teachers Allison Krebs and Trish Bruwelheide, who lapped up the adorable animal snapshots.
Sixth-grader Matt Pickering joked that his pooch – Lt. Wes Van Dorn – was thinking something like: “Is class dismissed yet?!”Mrs. Bruwelheide’s dog, Tuxedo, is ready for class!
