Ask GeKobe Bell to share some qualities of great teachers and the Landstown Elementary second-grader will give you six.
“One, they’re very nice. Two, they love all their students,” he began.
“Three, they’re caring. Four, they have the right tools for the right students. They help students with what they need, and they give students second tries if they mess up.”
If Bell’s list reminds you of a teacher you know who is making a difference in the lives of students, the Great Dreams Need Great Teachers campaign wants to hear from you.
Virginia Beach City Public Schools invites students, parents, grandparents, staff members, community members – anyone with a story to share about the positive impact and work of a great teacher – to email their stories to GreatTeachers@vbschools.com. Submissions are welcomed throughout the school year.
Selected teachers will be surprised at school and recognized on the Great Dreams Need Great Teachers website. In addition, thanks to donations from community partners, recognized teachers will receive a gift to thank them for their hard work and dedication to children.
Show your gratitude for great teachers and recognize a deserving teacher today.
