Plaza Middle School held its first “Pathways to Success” night for parents and students last month. The event gave parents tools and resources to promote academic success in the home.
Participants visited a science fair, career exhibit and book fair in the library between academic sessions.
The 378 visitors went to teacher-led sessions such as World Languages, Literacy and Technology, Supporting Student Success in Social Studies, How to Make Your Home Reading Ready, and Math and Technology.
Volunteers from the public library were also on hand to hand out applications for library cards and facilitate a free book swap.
