Leilani Lane is a beloved student at Princess Anne Elementary School, and she has worked with various specialists and technologies to aid in her instruction. This year, Lane was given an Accent 1400, a voice output system that truly allowed her to be able to share her voice. The results were remarkable. Learn more about her story here:
This is FABULOUS! The story brings happy, loving tears! It is so fitting that Leilani is using a device with her eyes. When I taught at PAE my students and I looked forward to greeting her and knew that she was greeting us by what we recognized in her smile and her expressive eyes! I couldn’t agree more with what Mr. Wroton said. My experience with students at PAE is that they support ALL learners, “its the nature of the building”! #proudalumni
You go, girl! I’m so proud of you, Leilani! Love, Mrs. C-W
I am so thrilled to see this story! I too am tearing up reading this! I had the pleasure of meeting Leilani at PAE when I worked as a substitute teacher assistant in her class and she holds a special place in my heart. She always recognized me with a bright smile and I knew she had so much potential. I am lucky to still get to see her at my church and she still recognizes me and greets me with her beautiful smile! I am thankful that VBCPS has the technology available for Leilani so that she has the opportunity to tell the world what is going on in her mind! I am not surprised that she is making amazing progress!
