The school division’s Office of Programs for Exceptional Children (OPEC) and the Virginia Beach Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) will host the 2015 Community Resource Fair Monday, Nov. 2, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Landstown High School. The free event is open to the public and will include information from more than 100 organizations, agencies and providers about their services and products for children and/or adults with disabilities.
Attendees will have the opportunity to visit exhibits and speak with representatives involved with recreational programs, vocational assistance, respite services, estate planning, care coordination, case management, support/advocacy groups, legal services, assistive technology, transition services, residential programs and more.
Some of the organizations planning to attend include: Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation Therapeutic Recreation Program, Vanguard Landing, Assistive Technology Loan Fund (ATLFA), Autism Society of Tidewater, Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters, Mobility Supercenter, Arts Inclusion Company, SensoryAbled Kids, MetLife, Virginia Beach Project Lifesaver, Numotion Mobility, Southeastern Therapy for Kids and Virginia Beach Public Library.
