
For its exemplary record of leadership, service and activities that serve to improve the school and community, the Bayside High School student council has been awarded its first 2015 National Gold Council of Excellence Award by the National Association of Student Councils (NASC).
Receiving an NASC National Gold Council of Excellence Award reflects the highest dedication on the part of the school to providing a strong, well-rounded student council program which includes basic requirements such as a written constitution, regular meetings, a democratic election process and membership in NASC.
The SCAs of Landstown, Ocean Lakes, Salem and Tallwood high schools were also honored this year with their second consecutive year as winners of gold award of excellence.
These Beach schools are among only nine recognized across the Commonwealth and less than 200 chapters nationwide. The gold award constitutes the highest honor conferred annually by the NASC.
First Colonial High School’s SCA was also honored by the NASC. The school received a a National Council of Excellence award.
