The Environmental Protection Agency, as required by the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) of October 1986, requires all school facilities to have an inspection for asbestos-containing building materials and to have a detailed management plan identifying these materials.
The AHERA Management Plans are available in each school’s main office for review by parents, teachers and employee organizations. If you have questions about your school’s management plan, discuss them with your principal, or call the Industrial Hygienist in Office of Environmental and Energy Management at 757-263-2500.
There is a school right here in Va beach that you may have missed on this list! Are you aware that Bettie F Williams still has asbestos floors? They are cracked and water pours in on them further contaminating the already dangerous air born spores or asbestos particles. It is throughout the building, however you wouldnt notice because most has been covered up by carpet. I worked there for 24 years i know EXACTLY where it is!
