The students in Katherine Kelly’s first grade class at Windsor Woods Elementary School enjoyed a special presentation from Marianne Winn, grandmother to Sam Sawyer, a student in Kelly’s class.

Winn is originally from Paisley, Scotland. Her paternal grandparents immigrated to Scotland from County Cork, Ireland. Winn immigrated to the United States in May of 1963.

When presenting to the class, she brought in the Ireland flag, a pot of gold, a kilt and other items from Ireland to show the students.  She also brought Irish music and read the children a book.
