Parents of students in grades 5, 8, and 12 and all Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) employees should look for email invitations the week of Jan. 27 to participate in school division surveys. The email will be from surveys@vbschools.com via research.net. The last day to take the respective surveys is Feb. 14.
The annual Parent Survey, called Compass to 2020 Monitoring Survey, helps inform areas of improvement at the school and division level. School-level results are provided to each school principal and published in each school’s annual report card, called Campus Compass. Division-level results are used as part of the division’s Navigational Markers, which are used to monitor progress on the division’s strategic framework, Compass to 2020. These results can be found on Compass to 2020’s Our Progress tab. This survey is only for parents of students in grades 5, 8, and 12 to minimize survey fatigue. Parents with children in more than one VBCPS school at those grade levels will receive an email invitation for each school their children attend. Responses from individuals are anonymous.
The biennial Employee Input Survey is an opportunity for VBCPS staff to give opinions and suggestions on issues such as working conditions, professional development, salary and benefits. The survey is part of the Employee Input Process, which helps inform continuous improvement efforts for division employees. Responses from individuals are anonymous. Read the results from the 2018 survey here.
Questions about the surveys may be directed to the school division’s Office of Planning, Innovation, and Accountability at 757-263-1030.
