Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) is expanding its annual Academy and Advanced Academic Programs Night to feature all of the programs, pathways and services available to students throughout their educational experience – from prekindergarten through graduation. The new event, Navigating the Journey, will be held Thursday, Oct. 12, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.
Students and families can visit more than 50 exhibits and information tables throughout the evening as well as attend breakout sessions on topics including high school academies, the transition through middle school and military connections in the division. The 25-minute breakout sessions begin at 6 p.m. and repeat at 6:35 p.m., 7:10 p.m. and 7:50 p.m.
“From our prekindergarten classes to our high school academies and specialty centers, we are very fortunate and proud to be able to provide children and families living in Virginia Beach with high quality academic programs, a variety of supportive services and multiple pathways to ensure our students achieve success throughout their educational career and beyond,” said Dr. Aaron Spence, VBCPS superintendent. “We hope all of our families will take advantage of this opportunity to see all our division offers at each school level.”
