Chelsea Lambright, a 2010 graduate of Ocean Lakes High School, was selected to speak at the White House Summit and Research Forum on Improved Health and Fitness for Americans with Disabilities. The summit was held earlier this month.
Now a student at James Madison University (JMU), Lambright joined her professor, Dr. Thomas Moran, on a panel to discuss the impact of JMU’s mentoring program, “Overcoming Barriers,” which is a program that pairs JMU students with community members of all ages who have disabilities.
The summit brought in disability advocates from all levels of education, including K-12 schools and universities, as well as other community-based organizations to share best practices of the national fitness initiative, I Can Do It, You Can Do It!.
