Birdneck Elementary recently celebrated its inaugural STREAM. Night, drawing over 270 students and their families for an evening of innovation, creativity and fun. The event highlighted the school’s commitment to Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art and Math (STREAM) through engaging hands-on activities and live demonstrations.
Attendees explored a wide range of stations including book walks, art projects, math games, and activities featuring Dash robots. A special guest author was also present to connect literacy with excitement and imagination.
Community partners added to the event’s success. The Virginia Beach City Police Department Bomb Squad showcased a real robotics machine, the National Park Service brought live animals, and local livestock keepers introduced students to farm animals up close.
The night served as a powerful example of how schools and communities can collaborate to bring learning to life outside the classroom. Organizers hailed it as a tremendous success and look forward to making it an annual tradition.
