Providence Elementary School welcomed author Steven K. Smith for an exciting visit with third, fourth and fifth grade students.
Smith, who has written 11 books, spent the day sharing how Virginia’s rich history inspires his stories. Students enjoyed seeing photos from historical sites he’s explored during his research and engaged in a lively discussion about the writing process.
Curious young readers asked Smith questions about his journey to becoming an author, where he finds ideas, and what he loves most about writing.
To cap off the memorable day, students had the opportunity to get their own copies of his books signed. It was an inspiring experience for the Providence Pioneers — one they’ll cherish for years to come.
