It may have still just been October, but that did not stop Glenwood Elementary second-graders from creating ice snowmen. The students took part in a new experiment to observe the transformation of matter. Students helped fill three ballons with water, placed the balloons in the freezer (liquid to solid), then made and ice snowman with the frozen spheres. Next, they watched the snowman melt (solid to liquid). They also observed the condensation on the container (gas to liquid). Finally, they observed evaporation as the liquid from the melted ice snowman began to change from a liquid to a gas over time. See their work below:
