The Green Run High School (GRHS) Class of 2016 started a project earlier this year in celebration of Reading Month to help grow a generation of new readers. GRHS students collected new and gently used children’s books at the school. Once the books were collected, students took time to inscribe messages inside the book’s cover with messages such as “Please enjoy this book courtesy of the Green Run High School Class of 2016.” From there, students donated the books to local doctor offices in the Green Run area as well as the emergency room at Princess Anne Sentara hospital. This way, children could have a fun, and educational way, to spend their time while waiting to be seen.
