Ocean Lakes High School (OLHS) earned placement on U.S. News & World Report’s “Best High Schools” List. The publication’s staff reviews more than 29,000 high schools across the country in order to put together the annual listing.
Ocean Lakes was awarded a silver medal from U.S. News & World Report, and was ranked 31st in the state of Virginia. OLHS also was ranked 1,304th best high school in the country.
According to U.S. News & World Report, in order to be considered, math and reading proficiency scores from the school are compared to the statewide results and all of a school’s students have to perform “better than statistically expected for students in their state.”
Additionally, schools’ performance on college-level tests, including Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) were measured to find the schools with the best achievement for the highest percentage of students.
Congratulations, Ocean Lakes!
