Grab your wireless devices and get ready to get excited!
The Gifted Motivation Information Night will be held Wednesday, May 1, from 6:30- 8 p.m. at Virginia Beach Middle School. The event, hosted by Office of Gifted Education and Curriculum, will help parents who are struggling in motivating their underachieving students.
Designed for parents who want to motivate their children to perform at high levels in school, teachers and administrators from the Office of Gifted Education and Curriculum Development will host an interactive workshop to discuss motivation issues and introduce parents to additional resources at their disposal.
For example, as part of the 90 minute session, parents will be introduced to Motivation for Accomplishment, an online site containing information, discussions and recommendations to help them understand, influence and learn how to motivate their children. Parents will use their wireless devices to learn how to navigate the Planning Tool for Motivation from the website. Again, teachers from the Office of Gifted Education and Curriculum will be on hand to answer any questions about this new site.
For more information about the event or about any of the resources that will be discussed, contact the Office of Gifted Education and Curriculum Development at 263-1405. To register for the motivational workshop, call 263-1949 or e-mail sandi.maxwell@vbschools.com.
