If you’ve ever been to a class at school or meeting at work, you’ve no doubt seen or even developed a PowerPoint presentation. You’ve probably also observed that some presentations are more effective than others.
At the next Parent Connection Technology Academy session Wednesday, Jan. 21, from 6:30-8 p.m., you can learn how to put the “power” in PowerPoint presentations you or others create. Advanced Technology Center (ATC) students will teach participants to move beyond simple text and pictures to incorporate charts, SmartArt and animation to improve content, develop self-running shows and create more dynamic presentations.
Parent Connection Technology Academy is a monthly series of workshops created and led by ATC students. Each Technology Academy session addresses a common technology issue or software program, ranging from using Word documents and spreadsheets to social media and Internet safety.
The goal of the Technology Academy is to help parents and grandparents become more familiar with computers, software and applications that students are using in class and for homework. By becoming more computer literate, family members can feel more confident reviewing student work and providing academic supports.
