March is designated as Theatre in Our School Month; however, all throughout the year our high schools showcase the theatrical talents of students with a variety of productions.
“You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”
“Actor’s Nightmare”
“Gotta Dance!”
“Othello”
“The Little Mermaid”
“12 Angry Jurors”
At the Group 5A and 6A Virginia High School League (VHSL) State Theatre Festival March 5 two VBCPS high school ensembles and three actors earned awards.
Princess Anne High School (PAHS) was the state runner-up in the Group 5A ensemble competition for its performance of “Wiley and the Hairy Man.” PAHS students Shannon Hughes and Annie Fick earned Group 5A Outstanding Actor awards.
First Colonial High School (FCHS) was the state runner-up in the Group 6A ensemble competition for its performance of “Mirrors.” FCHS student David Crouse earned a Group 6A Outstanding Actor award.
View photos from these theatre productions and more on the VBSchools Facebook page, and check the school division’s Performing and Visual Arts Calendar for information about upcoming spring performances such as “Shrek,” “Into the Woods” and “Cinderella.”
The link to the Performing and Visual Arts Calendar above does not work.
Thank you for letting us know. Our division’s website was upgraded last summer so some of the links in stories written prior to that might not work. However, I’ve updated the calendar link. It’s https://www.vbschools.com/academic_programs/performing___visual_arts/performing_visual_arts_calendar
