First-graders at Dey Elementary School had the opportunity to go back in time and ride the bus with civil rights icon Rosa Parks.

Staff member –  including the school’s library media specialist, computer resource specialist and first-grade teachers – collaborated on ways to make an interactive and engaging research project for students.

Students worked on their research in class, and then, with a green screen app, students were able to present their findings alongside a photo of Parks riding the bus.
