In VBCPS, teachers don’t lose sight of the joy associated with reading. Take Zach Penny of Rosemont Elementary, for example. His love of reading was encouraged by his teachers. Now he is reading’s champion, In fact, his zest for reading is so strong, he has become a role model for his fifth grade peers. In fact, Zach Penny has his classmates gobbling up books at lunchtime.
Zach, you continue to inspire us! You are doing great things, and I am excited to see what’s next for you!
Zach’s passion for reading, nurtured by staff at Rosemont Elementary, has not only earned this recognition as a Compass Keeper, but it also aligns well to Goal 1, High Academic Expectations, and Goal 3, Social-Emotional Development, of Compass to 2020.
Well done Zach and thank you to the staff at Rosemont Elementary!
Zach- you are amazing! What a wonderful idea – engaging students in such a productive style during lunches! You have inspired me to use your idea at our school!
Keep on reading- your determination will take you anywhere you want to go!
I am so proud of my great nephew, Zachary Penny. Every time I come to visit he is reading, reading, reading! I hope he continues to inspire and instill the love of reading! Congratulations, Zachary!
