Meghan Timlin, coordinator of Kempsville High School’s Entrepreneurship and Business Academy, was named one of Hampton Roads’ 2019 Top 40 under 40 honorees by Inside Business. This daughter of two retired VBCPS educators is quick to deflect recognition, saying that the honor is really for her school and the academy. However, Timlin was in on the ground floor of building the academy, which has now grown to provide students a spectrum of opportunities, such as working alongside business professionals through job shadowing, pitching their ideas for innovative products and participating in nationwide competitions, which they have won. In a nutshell, she puts students first, which is one of the division’s core values, and the reason why she is the focus of this month’s Compass Keepers video.
Ms. Timlin is a true Chief and not only a Compass Keeper but a trail blazer too! Hard to believe that the EBA will have graduates in just a few short months!! Way to go Kempsville!!
Fabulous description of an outstanding educator! So proud of her and proud to have been one of her instructors many years ago!
