Special education teachers at Bayside Middle School are spreading awareness of disabilities throughout October, which is Disability History and Awareness Month.

Every Friday of the month, Bayside special education staff is encouraging their colleagues to dress in a color to bring attention to a particular disability, including mental illness, developmental delays, ADHD and autism. Today, Oct. 3, they wore ribbons and dressed in blue and yellow to promote awareness of Down Syndrome.
