Woodstock Elementary and Princess Anne Middle School are two of just 173 schools nationwide to earn the National PTA School of Excellence designation. They are two of just 14 schools in Virginia earning this honor as well. Since the recognition program was created in 2014, more than 460 schools have been awarded the designation.
According to the National PTA, the School of Excellence recognition program supports and celebrates partnerships between PTAs and schools to enrich the educational experience and overall well-being for all students.
In order for a school to receive this designation, a survey must find that school families either report a high level of family engagement or that the PTA has made a substantive, positive improvement in families’ perceptions since the beginning of the school year.
