We Are VBSchools: Great Dreams Need Great Teachers

This year, the school division will be hosting a yearlong teacher appreciation campaign, We Are VBSchools: Great Dreams Need Great Teachers. This campaign officially launched at the convocation activities held this past Wednesday, Sept. 2, at every school in the division.

GreatDreams4x4Banner_UPDATED“There is no greater profession or higher calling than that of a teacher,” Spence said. “Teachers meet our children where they are and walk alongside them to teach, to guide, to mentor and to inspire. In today’s world, it is harder than ever to be a teacher, but that makes their role that much more vital to our students, our community and our future. We want to dedicate our year to celebrating our incredible teachers and the transformative work they do in the lives of children.”

As part of the campaign, all teachers and staff will receive special tokens of appreciation, including a custom “We Are VBSchools: Great Dreams Need Great Teachers” lanyard, which you should have received at your convocation.

Additionally, throughout the school year, a custom webpage, vbschools.com/GreatTeachers, will house stories and videos highlighting the work and lives of VBCPS teachers as well as powerful testimonials from students and parents.

The site is live now, and you are encouraged to visit each week to see new stories about our great teachers. In addition, if you have a colleague that should be honored on this site, send an email to GreatTeachers@vbschools.com and share how this teacher helps makes a difference.

  1. Teacher first, Navy veteran next, teacher again. Agree teachers respond to the highest calling.
Sharing a personal note that this is the first time I will be teaching my major, Latin, in one school all day. I loved the inspiration provided my first two weeks at my 3rd (?) TOCLI and during Staff Preparation at Kemps Landing/Old Donation School. May our power be on, and may we further the dreams.
