  1. As a VBEA Former Member, I would often speak with custodians at various schools to encourage and support them. I started out in 1994 with many different jobs in the school system but you have toughest of them all. (Keeping our school clean and operational) The students could not have their hearty breakfast if the custodians did not clean the cafeteria, classrooms and the school. On the snowy days we all track in mess and you graciously clean it up. When sometimes it seems no one else care, I look to the custodian where I work and to see them smiling right back at me. Please enjoy your retirement and know that you are loved and will be missed by all your fellow workers even those here at the Renaissance Academy!

  2. Melvin always had a kind word and a big smile for all of us at Landstown Middle School. He was always willing to go way about and beyond the call of duty.
I have been gone from my Landstown for 5 years, and miss so many life long friends, and I consider Melvin one of them.
I had the pleasure of seeing him two weeks ago, and he still had that wonderful grin on his face.
Enjoy retirement Melvin you have more than earned it

  5. I’ve guest taught at Landstown Middle on several occasions and remember Melvin well. He was a person who always made me feel better with a kind “Hello” and a smile. You’re lucky to be able to retire and I hope you have fun!
