Centerville raises Pennies for Patients

Pennies for Patients is a successful Centerville SCA campaign to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The three classes who raised the most money won the right for those teachers to cut the hair of volunteer staff members. The school raised more  than $2200 and celebrated with a hair-raising event!

These teachers volunteered to have their hair cut and donated. From left to righr, Allison Engel, kindergarten teacher, Terrie Combs, librarian and Sarah Pope, guidance counselor.

  1. That was awesome! You guys raised $2200 for LLS which I support as a survivor and my son who had three boys of his own passed away in 2006 from leukemia. My wife is the Late Effects Coordinator for children with blood disease at CHKD and she is also an avid supporter of LLS.
Thank you guys so much for your work and maybe I could have my hair cut next time but since I am bald it wouldn’t be as exciting.
