Science teacher Andy Bedinger deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan for the majority of the 2013-2014 school year. When he returned this fall, to honor the students and faculty of Ocean Lakes High School, he presented his flag to Dr. Cheryl Askew at the very first All School Assembly. When on duty, Bedinger flew the flag presented Askew above his base, Camp Phoenix, on June 12, 2014. His commanding general signed a commemorative certificate to accompany the flag.

Mr. Bedinger was an awesome Biology teacher and a great man. I’m sorry I didn’t get to see him return, (Class of 2014) but I’m glad to see he made it home safe.
