As many of you know, it is time to look beyond our current strategic plan, Compass to 2015, to determine what’s next for Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS). Here is your chance to help forge the future of the school division.
An online survey has been developed for students, staff and community members to take to share their priorities regarding the needs of students today. To take the survey, visit www.vbschools.com/compass/beyond/.
This survey was developed with the feedback received from a series of focus groups as well as meetings with business and community organizations. Additionally, feedback from guests to the Virtual Town Hall site on vbschools.com was also incorporated.
“Our new plan will be founded upon the commentary we receive in these forums,” said Dr. Don Robertson, assistant superintendent of Planning, Innovation and Accountability for the school division. “That is how we built Compass to 2015, and that is how we will continue to move forward – relying on the people who want to see this division continue to break new ground as a leader in public education.”
The survey is currently live and will be open until May 9. For more information about the planning process, you can also visit www.vbschools.com/compass/beyond/.
