What a year of giving!
This 2012-2013 school year, almost 27,000 volunteers and partners donated more than 660,000 hours of service to Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS). The value of this service is estimated at approximately $14,623,350*.
“This has been outstanding year for our school partnerships and volunteers,” said Laura Smart, partnership coordinator for VBCPS. “We are again indebted to the giving and generous spirits of our community. This work serves as a reminder of how well supported Virginia Beach is, and hopefully will be an inspiration for those looking for a way to give back to their school division.”
Thank you to each and every student, teacher, staff member, parent, grandparent, community member, local business owner and volunteer who gave of their time to help make our classrooms and schools stronger.
