The school division’s website, vbschools.com, and all individual school websites will be temporarily offline Saturday, July 15 as part of a server migration. The migration will help technology staff deploy and manage various web applications throughout the year.
The outage could last four to 24 hours; however staff is anticipating sites to be offline four to six hours.
To inform visitors of the upcoming outage, notices will be posted on vbschools.com and on school websites. Job applicants should plan ahead.
The migration was scheduled on a weekend during the summer to have the least impact to site visitors. The school division’s multitude of other communication channels (Alert Now and social media) will still be operable.
After the migration occurs, visitors will not experience any changes.
