A team of students, including four from Virginia Beach, took first place in a STIHL Manufacturing Camp contest, which required them to design a prototype speaker system from a STIHL brand leaf blower pictured below. Each member of the winning team received a $1000 scholarship to the college of their choice.
The 2014 winning team members from Team Bumble Beatzzzz, which built nine wireless speakers are Cameron Jackson (Grassfield High); Thomas Mathwig (Ocean Lakes High); Carter Sabo (Landstown High); Alex Plutchak (Lynnhaven Middle); Joshua Dano (Landstown High); and Garrett Pease (Windsor High).
