Two students at Thoroughgood Elementary decided they were going to do their part to support those fighting cancer – even if it meant losing their hair.
Fifth-grader Riley Johnson and third-grader Karaline Gronbech from Thoroughgood Elementary shaved their heads to participate in an event held at the Westin in Town Center to benefit the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
The girls said they were motivated to give up their locks by the loss of a friend’s younger sibling as well as a beloved neighbor – both of whom died from cancer.
St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a charity that funds the most promising research to find cures for kids with cancer.
