Webber the therapy dog and Mrs. Rheinhart, LMA, recently helped to teach Mrs. Moomaw’s first grade class at Salem Elementary School about the differences between service dogs and work dogs.

I have been looking for a therapy dog for my 17 year old daughter with Asperger’s. She stays inside everyday and is only involved with her computer, drawing people and turning them into 3-d.
I don’t know where to find a therapy dog, how much it costs, and if it could help my daughter interact with a living creature, take her out of the house, protect her, keep her from getting lost, and help with her anxiety and depression. I also wonder if there is an agency to pay for one for her. She has medicaid and hopefully soon will receive SSI(6 months and waiting).
She also does not attend school due to the above reasons– fear and anxiety about losing control.
Could you help me out with info or the use of your dog somehow. She is on Homebound schooling currently due to excessive absenses because she cannot handle going to school.
