Anticipating large voter turnout and related traffic volume for the presidential primaries scheduled in Virginia next week, Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) will operate on a two-hour delay for all students Tuesday, March 1. More than 40 VBCPS schools are being used as polling places for the Super Tuesday primaries.
The schedule for VBCPS staff is not adjusted, and all employees should report to work as scheduled for daily school division operations.
An overview of how the two-hour delay impacts programs and services in VBCPS schools is available on www.vbschools.com. School buses will begin their routes to pick up students two hours later than their regular daily schedule.
More information about polling locations is available online or by calling the City of Virginia Beach’s Voter Registrar’s office at 757.385.8683.
