Parents of students enrolled in Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) will have the opportunity to express their perceptions about the learning climate at their child’s school through the 2015 School Climate Survey for Parents. The survey will be administered during the month of February and is part of the school division’s assessment of each school’s educational climate.
Results from the survey are reported by the division’s Department of Planning, Innovation, and Accountability as part of the Annual School Report Card. They are also provided to the principal at each school, and schools use this information to help identify areas for improvement.
Parents of students in grades one through twelve will be invited to participate in the survey through Monday, March 2. Survey invitations will be sent electronically to the parent email addresses on file at each school. Responses are anonymous, provided participants do not disclose personally identifiable information in the comment section.
Parents who have questions about the survey, or would like a paper copy, may contact Dr. Bethany McCaffrey, program evaluation specialist in the Department of Planning, Innovation, and Accountability, at (757) 263-1199 or Bethany.McCaffrey@vbschools.com.
