Salem Middle students selected for HRYWE

Salem Middle School Band students Miguel Garza, Sarah Kennedy, Maiko Okawa, Camerone Treon and Alexys Wilber were selected, through a rigorous audition process, to rehearse and perform with the Hampton Roads Youth Wind Ensemble (HRYWE), a unique, advanced performance outlet for middle school and high school instrumentalists in the Hampton Roads area.

The following students were named to the HRYWE, in the front row; Maiko Okawa (flute), Sarah Kennedy (fench horn), Miguel Garza (trumpet); in the back row, Camerone Treon (alto saxophone), and Alexys Wilber (clarinet).

Conducted by Ledford Wilson, the ensemble has been rehearsing at Old Dominion University each Wednesday evening for three months and will perform a concert later this month.
