UPDATE: This year’s run was a major success. 190 people ran, walked or volunteered on race day in support of this cause and through sponsorship, race fees and generous donations from the PAMS PTA and community, the race was able to raise $5,700 for the Wounded Wear Organization. Overall, PAMS donated $8,000 to Wounded Wear.
Each year, Princess Anne Middle School’s (PAMS) “Lend a Hand Community Event” designates a local charity in which 100 percent of proceeds from school fundraising are given. This year, PAMS has chosen the Wounded Wear Organization. To kick off the event, Lt. Jay Redman spoke to PAMS students about his service in the military, the day he suffered life-threatening injuries on the battlefield and his mission for Wounded Wear Organization.
To support the cause, the school will hold its Lend a Hand event Sunday, April 27 from noon – 3 p.m. at Kellam High School, and will feature the First Annual PAMS Panther Prowl 5K Run. The Wounded Wear Organization will also be in attendance.
