Representatives from General Mills, Simon Eng and Rod Hesson, visited Kempsville Middle School to present a check for $2,000. The school won the General Mills box top contest by partnering with Oceana Naval Commissary to decorate the collection bin and assist with box tops collections.
“This was an incredible opportunity for students, staff, and community to work together for the benefit of the school,” said principal Patti Jenkins. “A $2,000 check is going to go a long way in garnering valuable resources for our students.”
And, that’s not all. Eng also stopped by Hermitage and Woodstock Elementary schools to drop off a check for 20,000 box tops, which, again, translates to $2,000 for each school.
Way to go Kempsville Middle! Good job!
Great job Braves!
