This spring, Bayside, Princess Anne and Ocean Lakes high schools will serve as participants in a new pilot program, which makes electronic transcripts (eTranscripts) available to students via the academic records company, Parchment.
This free, online service allows students or parents to request an official high school transcript and send it to a college or university of choice in just a few clicks, making the college application process easier for juniors and seniors.
With this online system, transcript requests can be processed much faster and students can log on to track the status of a request at any time.
Right now, Bayside, Princess Anne and Ocean Lakes High Schools will pilot the program. However, if all goes well, VBCPS administration will expand eTranscripts at all high schools beginning in the fall of 2015.
Parchment sends transcripts securely, accurately and confidentially to more than 2,600 colleges or universities. Parchment also can send additional information electronically, including letters of recommendation.
