Through his deeds and actions, student activities coordinator Randy Sparling positively impacts the lives of students and staff at Salem Middle School every day. In fact, he’s a bit of a legend and hero to his students. So, when tragedy recently struck during a school field trip, no one was surprised at how he took action.
Randy is a true hero!
He is a Hero. Randy did a great thing. He is the poster boy who represents the hearts of all who work beside him or with him. Parents, you miss those precious moments on our school buses when we get a smile or a giggle when we There are many loving ways we watch out for our children. We are the first contact they have at the start of their day. We could be the difference between a good day or a bad one. We sure that its the best start we can give them. Mr. Sparling represents himself well, and the rest of us too. Your children are loved and cared for. Most important they are safe.
The impact of this day will spread so far beyond a potentially tragic accident. You’re a good man, Randy, and you touched more lives that day than any of us will ever know.
Randy, as a motorcyclist, I want to thank you for all that you did. I can only hope that if something were to happen to me or to my husband as we ride, you or another hero like you, would be there for us as you were for this couple.
Dang randy the tru OG
Randy shows us the true leadership as an educator.

Mr. Sparling, you continue to be the strong oak whose branches continue to reach far beyond the doors of Salem Middle School. I remember all you did for me and my twins when they were students and athletes at SMS. You are truly amazing! It was great to hear this story and its testimony and to have such an honor bestowed upon you. Continue being the beacon of leadership and inspiration that our children need and will always remember.
