April is National Volunteer Month and it is an appropriate time to say thanks to those individuals who step into our schools, asking nothing in return for the opportunity to pitch in and help make a difference in a child’s life.
Jessie Riley is one of those individuals and she is as much a fixture at Green Run Elementary as the school mascot, the Gremlin. She’s been volunteering in the school media center for more than a decade. A Golden Circle member, Riley works at the school’s checkout counter three days a week for about four hours a day – all for her love for children.
