Students from Bayside High School’s Health Sciences Academy as well as Nursing and Dental Assisting students from the Technical and Career Education Center (TCE) traveled to Roanoke, Va., to participate in the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA). The Leadership Conference gave students an opportunity to attend workshops and meet other students from all over Virginia with similar career goals. Additionally, students competed in a variety of events in the health occupation fields.
Virginia Beach was represented well.
Bayside had 17 students qualify to participate in the conference and all 17 placed as a State Finalist in his or her competition. Additionally, the TCE had 15 students place at the competition. Here are the winners:

In addition, Bayside has more great news to share. Bayside’s award-winner Kennedy Radix has just been selected by the Virginia State Board for HOSA to serve as the Region 2 Vice President for 2014-2015. Congratulations!
