Jack Burton and Isabella Ocasio, Advanced Technology Center Advanced Software and Game Development and Adv. Web Design students were recognized this winter by NEXCOM at the ATC for their design, and development of a multi-function app for NEXCOM.
What began as an app development project for a work based experience program with NEXCOM’s Human Resources Information Resources Division in June resulted in a part time job within the organization. As Computer Trainees they successfully established a Proof of Concept and created an application for training on a mobile device. The application will improve efficiency and accessibility and allow all employees access to mandatory training to incorporate a landing page to include Taleo (hourly jobs, management jobs, and internal jobs), Training (icons for all training videos), and forms (benefits forms, ASI, and ADP paychecks). The students completed this challenging task while attending the ATC as high school seniors. They performed each assignment with dedication, a strong sense of commitment, unwavering attention to detail, and strict adherence to Department of Defense and NEXCOM security guidelines that have enhanced the overall capability of this organization.
The Mobile Device Platform Application they have created is now under review by NEXCOM’s Information Application Development team and Security team members. They are currently discussing the application and all aspects of development.
Students presented their project to their classes and NEXCOM recognized them for their work.
Congratulations to you all for being such pioneers! A very special “way to go” to Isabella Ocasio for all of her efforts. Your family, especially your dad, must be very proud of you!
Wonderful! Great job to the Team @ ATC and to the mentors, also.
