We could all use a little good news, right? Well, Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) delivers, with the announcement of the five finalists for 2021 Citywide Teacher of the Year. The division is so proud of all its innovative and dedicated educators year-round, and even more so as they’ve been an integral part of the Continuity of Learning plan during this extended school closure.
Every spring, VBCPS recognizes the best-of-the-best by choosing finalists for VBCPS Citywide Teacher of the Year.
Congratulations to these five finalists for 2021 Citywide Teacher of the Year:
-Angela Cosimano, social studies teacher, Princess Anne High School.
-Robert Mages, adapted physical education teacher, K-12, Special Education Annex.
-Daniel Ramos, Jr., HVAC teacher, Technical and Career Education Center.
-Christina Vogt, theater teacher, Salem High School.
-Rebecca Yaple, math teacher/Innovation Lab teacher, Bayside Middle School.
The Teacher of the Year selection committee will interview each of the finalists and narrow the decision to one. That announcement will be made in the coming weeks.
Congratulations and good luck to all five finalists!
I am thrilled to see such a wide variety of teachers being honored.
