<\/a><\/p>\nDetermined to \u201cend the year with a bang,\u201d as a bulletin board in the classroom states,\u00a0Clark reveals the student VIP daily in dramatic fashion. Each student\u2019s name was placed in an inflated balloon pinned to the bulletin board. Clark pops one each day with scissors to identify the VIP.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey were asking earlier if the girls had pink balloons and the boys had green ones,\u201d Clark said. \u201cThat\u2019s not necessarily true because we popped a green one today and Kylie\u2019s our VIP. So, it\u2019s a surprise. As the VIP, they get special privileges for the day.\u201d<\/p>\n Privileges like a decorated VIP desk, a prominent seat in the front of the classroom, a yoga ball for a\u00a0chair, use of colorful pens and markers, and more.<\/p>\n Just in case their is any question, the\u00a0student VIP wears a badge with the message: \u201cExclusive permission to special privileges.\u201d<\/p>\n News of the daily VIP selection is also shared with the school on the classroom door.<\/p>\n \u201cEarlier in the year I took their picture and put it on the wall, and when they become the VIP for the day, we take their picture down and we put it out on the door,\u201d Clark explained.<\/p>\n Eight VIPs had been selected as of June 1, leaving nine more \u201cVery Important People\u201d to be recognized\u00a0during the last two weeks of school.<\/p>\n Who led the way?<\/p>\n \u201cThis guy,\u201d proudly announced Zakai Lawrence, the first VIP, pointing his thumbs at his chest.<\/p>\n \u201cYou get all this cool stuff. You get the iPad. You get the pens and stuff. There is a little Kid President button that you can press and you get to sit on a yoga ball. It was great.\u201d<\/p>\n The Kid President button is what Alayna Cole can\u2019t wait to use when she gets her turn to be the VIP for the day.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen someone answers a question and they are right,\u201d Cole said, \u201cI want to press the button and I\u2019m really excited about that.\u201d<\/p>\n Kylie Irby, the VIP on this day, presses the Kid President button to demonstrate and share the recorded messages that play with each push.<\/p>\n Doing nothing is a great way to change nothing.<\/em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n Fill your life with the good stuff, people.<\/em><\/p>\n You can do it. We can do it.<\/em> \u201cWe will<\/em> do it. It\u2019s too important for us not<\/em> to do it,\u201d chant the third graders to finish the statement with Kid President.<\/p>\n The next one seems to be their favorite. They emphasize each word as it plays aloud.<\/p>\n \u201cBe! More! Awesome!\u201d they exclaim. The message is also posted on their classroom wall.<\/p>\n Conner Goellner is excited about a different VIP privilege. \u201cThe pens,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m just going to write everything in purple pen. Everything will be in purple.\u201d<\/p>\n Former VIP Lucas Long had his favorites, too. \u201cI liked the yoga ball. I liked bouncing on it. I also liked the twitter feed.\u201d<\/p>\n Clark explained, \u201cWhen they get the iPad, one of the things that they are in charge of is our classroom Twitter account.
