{"id":4391,"date":"2015-11-04T10:59:37","date_gmt":"2015-11-04T14:59:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/?p=4391"},"modified":"2015-11-06T16:41:29","modified_gmt":"2015-11-06T20:41:29","slug":"fair-and-equitable-grading-practices-community-forum-nov-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vbcpsblogs.com\/core\/fair-and-equitable-grading-practices-community-forum-nov-5\/","title":{"rendered":"Fair and Equitable Grading Practices Community Forum Nov. 5"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) administration is currently researching potential changes to middle and high school grading guidelines \u2013 including grading practices for homework, late work and the use of zeros.<\/p>\n<p>To learn more about these potential changes and to give their feedback, parents, community members and staff are invited to attend the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vbschools.com\/press_releases\/prfy16\/019.html\">Fair and Equitable Grading Practices Community Forum<\/a>, which will be held Thursday, Nov. 5, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Princess Anne Middle School.<\/p>\n<p>Thomas Guskey, a professor of educational psychology at the University of Kentucky, will start the night with a presentation.
